Researchers at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill believe they may have found a away for diabetics to painlessly give themselves insulin using a small ultrasound device. It also allows diabetics to go days without injecting as opposed to several times a day. It works by injecting nano-particles either coated with a positive or negative solution filled with insulin that is slowly released. The charged coating keeps the particles from dispersing throughout the body which creates a dose of insulin waiting to be pulled into the bloodstream. (Read more…)
