We Thought the Platypus Couldn’t Get Weirder!

A new study has found that in Australia, a giant platypus used to exist 5 to 15 million years ago. Its scientific name is Obdurodon tharalkooschild. Since it had large teeth, scientist suggest that this platypus had a more carnivorous diet. Platypus now don’t have teeth at all. They use horny pads to chew. Not much is know about the evolutionary process of platypuses but more information is starting to turn up. (Read more…)
