A recent study on how sharks hunt their prey has shown that instead of the shark just eating the fish, they kill the fish with one slap of a fin. A research team observed thresher sharks in their natural habitat, the oceans of a small island near the Philippines. Apparently, this is the sharks way of adapting to their environment of a decreasing fish population. They are known to be able to knock out about three or four sardines with one slap and devour all of them at once, instead of the process of eating them one by one. (Read me…)
