These sunny orange monarch butterflies from Pacific Grove, dusty grey elephants from Minneriya, Sri Lanka, pretty in pink flamingos from Gujarat, and raging red crabs from Christmas Island are only four of the species around the world that migrate every year. They are like humans in a way; we migrate to urban areas every year. Most people know “birds fly south for the winter,” but no one seems to think of all of the other animals that do too.
