Beluga Whale: Friend or Foe?

One of the smallest whale species, Delphinapterus Leucas or commonly know as the Beluga whale. They are found in the subarctic parts of the northern hemisphere, and live in groups of ten whales. They
live an average of thirty five to fifty years and begin reproducing at the age of eight.They are referred to as the canneries of the sea for having the loudest song of any toothed whale. They have been named “Near Threatened” in 2008 by the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List. (Read more…)
