The lionfish is considered one of the most beautiful creatures in the world. What most people don’t know is that just recently, they have become dangerously overpopulated.With no predators, aside from humans, and producing 30-40 thousand eggs every 4-5 days, the lionfish can wipe out 90% of a coral reef alone. The Bermuda received the lionfish in 2000, and now in 2013 they have spread all the way to the Caribbean. The lionfish can eat up to three quarters of its own size, and with its venom it is becoming unstoppable in the ocean. (Read more…)
