Alcoholism May be Hereditary

Evidence has been found that genetics is an important part of the development of alcoholism. Through studying these genes scientists hope to find a way to make drugs to treat or prevent alcoholism. The study used thousands of people and their dependence on alcohol and other drugs to discover genes that might lead to alcoholism. Through the data they discovered a network of 39 genes associated with alcoholism itself, found mainly European Americans and African Americans. (Read more…)
