Dogs are truly man’s best friend. Not only are they always by our side, but we also evolved together! Research teams at the University of Chicago and other institutions have found that several groups of genes found in humans were also found in dogs. These shared amounts of genes help historians and scientist alike discover how dogs and other animals became domesticated and the factors that made these animals evolve. Although it may be tricky to directly compare the human and the dog genome, this information is shaping the way we view how evolution shaped our world today. (Read more…)
